Terms of Service
Effective October 5, 2026 · Last revised October 5, 2026
01Acceptance of terms
By adding the WordCounter Discord bot ("the Service", "the Bot", "we", "us", or "our") to a server, using its commands, or using this website, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. WordCounter is run by Botzilla. It is a separate bot from Botzilla, and these Terms cover WordCounter only.
If you do not agree to these Terms, remove the Bot from your server and stop using it and this website.
02Compliance with Discord terms
WordCounter runs on Discord. As a user or server admin, you must follow Discord's policies, including:
Using WordCounter to break Discord's terms or guidelines is prohibited and can end your access.
03Description of service and licence
WordCounter counts words, messages, attachments (including stickers and links), emojis and custom keywords in your server. It shows leaderboards and member stats with monthly and per-channel history, and can count messages sent before it joined.
This website lets you sign in with Discord to see your own stats in the servers you share with WordCounter. Members with the Manage Server permission can also see everyone's stats in that server and change its WordCounter settings.
We grant you a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited licence to use the Bot and this website in Discord communities, in line with these Terms.
04Acceptable use and prohibited conduct
You agree not to:
- Try to break, overload or misuse the Bot, this website, or the services they rely on, including flooding them with commands or requests or getting around their limits.
- Try to see stats or change settings for servers you aren't allowed to, on Discord or on this website.
- Exploit bugs or security problems. If you find one, report it in our support server.
- Impersonate the Bot, its developer, or its staff.
05Your responsibilities as a server admin
If you add WordCounter to a server, you're responsible for telling that server's members it counts their activity. Our Privacy Policy describes what it stores. You choose which channels are tracked, and you can reset counts at any time in /settings or on this website. Changes made on the website work the same way as /settings in Discord.
06Service availability and changes
WordCounter and this website are free and provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We may:
- Change, pause or stop any part of WordCounter or this website at any time.
- Take the Bot and website offline for updates, fixes or hosting work.
Counts depend on what Discord lets the Bot see. Messages in channels it can't read, deleted messages, and messages from before it had access may be missing.
07Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Bot and this website are provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We don't promise they will always be available, free of errors, or that every count is exact.
08Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Botzilla, as the operator of WordCounter, isn't liable for any loss or damage from using WordCounter or this website, including lost data or lost counts.
09Termination
You can remove WordCounter from your server whenever you like. Removing it doesn't delete your server's data. Ask us in the support server and we'll delete it within 90 days, as described in the Privacy Policy.
We can stop providing WordCounter or this website to any server or user that breaks these Terms.
10Updates to these terms
If these Terms change, we'll update the "Last revised" date at the top and announce it in the support server. If you keep using WordCounter after an update is posted, you accept the new Terms.
11Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA.
12Contact information
For questions about these Terms, ask in our Discord support server. It's the only way to contact us.
